TORONTO, April 9 (UPI) -- Montreal's Brian Gionta netted a pair of goals Saturday and the Canadiens used a 4-1 win over Toronto to wrap up a sixth playoff seed.

Ryan White and Tomas Plekanec also found the net for the Habs, who finished with 96 points (44-30-8). That's the same mark as Buffalo, but Montreal secured the Eastern Conference's sixth seed by winning a tiebreaker with the Sabres.

Carey Price turned aside 27 shots for Montreal, which will meet division rival Boston in the first round of the playoffs.

Toronto was led by Phil Kessel, who notched his 32nd goal.

James Reimer yielded four goals on 34 shots as Leafs missed the post-season with a 37-34-11 mark.
