NHL: Minnesota 3, Edmonton 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, April 9 (UPI) -- Jose Theodore allowed only a second-period goal Friday and made 28 saves in bringing the Minnesota Wild a 3-1 victory over Edmonton.

The Wild halted a three-game losing streak while scoring all their goals on the power play.

Brent Burns tallied in the opening period, Jared Spurgeon scored 1:25 into the second and Andrew Brunette clinched it with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Edmonton's only goal came shorthanded from Teemu Hartikainen in the second to bring the Oilers within 2-1. Edmonton has lost two in a row and 13 out of 15.

Devan Dubnyk took the loss while stopping 24 shots.
