
COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 9 (UPI) -- Paul Gaustad and Jason Pominville led Buffalo with a goal and an assist each Saturday in the Sabres' 5-4 victory over Columbus.
Chris Butler, Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford also scored as the playoff-bound Sabres finished their regular-season schedule with a fourth straight win, clinching the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.
Buffalo (43-29-10) ended tied with Montreal at 96 points but the Canadiens held the tiebreaker between the two squads.
The Sabres will meet second-seeded Philadelphia in the first round.
Ryan Miller turned aside 20-of-21 shots before being relieved by Jhonas Enroth, who racked up 12 saves the rest of the way.
Kristian Huselius scored twice as the Blue Jackets (34-35-13) lost their sixth straight to end the season.
Steve Mason collected 25 saves for Columbus.
