ATLANTA, April 9 (UPI) -- Carlos Ruiz knocked a grand slam homer and added an RBI double Saturday, powering the Philadelphia Phillies to a 10-2 rout of Atlanta.
Ruiz went deep in the seventh inning, highlighting a five-run frame that lifted to Phils to a victory in the second of a three-game series at Turner Field.
Ruiz came off the bench to replace starting catcher Brian Schneider and finished with a career-high five RBI for the Phillies, who won for the sixth time in eight games to begin the season.
Schneider also smacked a two-run homer before being replaced and Roy Oswalt (2-0) allowed only one earned run on five hits over six innings to notch his first career win over Atlanta.
Atlanta starter Brandon Beachy (0-1) surrendered four runs on seven hits in six-plus innings as the Braves lost for the fourth time in five games.
