MLB: Baltimore 5, Texas 0 (1st game)

BALTIMORE, April 9 (UPI) -- Zach Britton held Texas scoreless over 7 2/3 innings Saturday and the Baltimore Orioles handed the Rangers their first loss in a 5-0 decision.

Britton (2-0), yielded just four hits and three walks as the Orioles improved to 6-1 and dropped Texas to 6-1 on the young season in the first game of a doubleheader at Camden Yards.

Jason Berken completed the O's shutout with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Mark Reynolds socked a three-run homer among his two hits and Nick Markakis added a solo shot for Baltimore.

Colby Lewis (1-1) was tagged for five runs (four earned) on six hits over six innings start for Texas.
