OKLAHOMA CITY, April 8 (UPI) -- Kevin Durant helped the Oklahoma City Thunder steadily pull away in the second half Friday en route to a 104-89 victory over Denver.

The Thunder remained a game behind Dallas in the race for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

Durant scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Thunder, who this week clinched the Northwestern Division title.

Russell Westbrook added 17 points, eight assists and six steals. Oklahoma City won its third straight, holding the Nuggets to 40 percent shooting.

Denver is headed for a fifth-place finish in the West and could meet the Thunder in the opening round of the playoffs.

Nene led Denver with 18 points. Oklahoma City defeated the Nuggets in three of their four meetings this year.
