MILWAUKEE, April 8 (UPI) -- Geovany Soto and Jeff Baker homered to account for all the scoring in a five-run fourth inning Friday that brought the Chicago Cubs a 7-4 win over Milwaukee.
Milwaukee had a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth but Soto hit a two-run homer and Baker had a three-run shot later in the frame.
The Brewers closed within 5-4 but three Chicago relievers combined for three shutout innings to wrap up the victory.
Carlos Zambrano (1-0) gave up four runs on seven hits through six innings to get the win. He struck out five.
Baker had an RBI single in the sixth and went 4-for-5. Carlos Marmol worked a 23-pitch ninth inning to collect his third save.
The loss went to starter Randy Wolf (0-2). He gave up six runs, only two of which were earned, on nine hits in six innings.
Four of the five Chicago runs in the fourth inning were unearned as a result of a fielding error by second baseman Rickie Weeks.
