CINCINNATI, April 7 (UPI) -- Houston's Matt Downs delivered an RBI double with two outs in the ninth Thursday and the Astros beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-2.

It was the first victory this season for Houston and ended Cincinnati's five-game winning streak to begin the year.

Brett Wallace opened the ninth with a single and was still on first after a pair of flyouts. Humberto Quintero pushed Wallace to second with a base hit and Downs followed with a double into the left-field corner for a 3-2 lead, handing the loss to reliever Nick Masset (0-1).

Fernando Abad (1-0) was given the win after 1 1/3 inning of one-hit relief and Brandon Lyon, despite giving up two two-out, ninth-inning hits, got the save.

Houston twice scored single runs off Reds starter Sam LeCure, who allowed three hits in five innings. The Astros manufactured a run in the first when Jason Bourgeois singled, stole second, took third on a sacrifice and scored on a groundout.

Carlos Lee tripled for Houston in the fourth and scored on another groundout.

The Reds tied the score 1-1 in the second with Edgar Renteria's RBI double and 2-2 in the seventh on Scott Rolen's second home run of the season.
