CASABLANCA, Morocco, April 6 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Marcos Baghdatis was among three upset victims Wednesday at the Grand Prix Hassan II tennis tournament in Morocco.
Baghdatis, No. 4 Andrey Golubev and sixth-seeded Jeremy Chardy all fell Wednesday in second-round play. Only eighth-seeded Victor Hanescu, who got past Michael Berrer 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), escaped the rash of upsets.
Qualifier Andrey Kuznetsov took out Baghdatis, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Baghdatis was good on just 35 percent of his first serves and won only half of the points on his second serve.
Pere Riba was a 0-6, 6-1, 7-5 winner over Golubev. Riba won just nine points in the first set but took 60 percent of the points in the second and third sets.
Pablo Andujar took a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 decision from Chardy. Both players dropped serve twice in the first set but Andujar didn't face a break point in the second.
