Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TORONTO, April 6 (UPI) -- Travis Snider put Toronto in front for good with a three-run homer in the fourth Wednesday and the Blue Jays went on to defeat Oakland 5-3.
Toronto won its second straight over the Athletics, overcoming a 2-1 deficit in the fourth and then getting a solid starting performance from Jesse Litsch.
Litsch (1-0) gave up three runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings while striking out seven. Mark Rzepczynski worked two scoreless innings and John Rauch came on to record the final two outs in the ninth for his first save.
Dallas Braden (0-1) took the loss, allowing Snider's homer after walking Juan Rivera and giving up an infield single to Edwin Encarnacion.
Braden gave up all five Toronto runs on 10 hits in seven-plus innings.
