NHL: Washington 3, Toronto 2 (SO)

TORONTO, April 5 (UPI) -- Mike Knuble's goal in the fourth round of a shootout Tuesday boosted the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 win over Toronto and the Southwest Division title.

The Capitals claimed their fourth straight division crown with their 15th victory in 18 games.

Alex Ovechkin and John Erskine notched goals in regulation and Michal Neuvirth was called upon to make only 19 stops for Washington.

The Maple Leafs got goals from Nikolai Kulemin and Joffrey Lupul and James Reimer made 39 saves.
