MIAMI, April 3 (UPI) -- Willie Harris and Ike Davis each went deep Sunday and the New York Mets downed Florida 9-2, taking the rubber game of a three-game weekend set.
R.A. Dickey (1-0) earned the win for New York, yielding only one unearned run on five hits while striking out seven batters.
The Mets, who spoiled the Florida debut of free agent pitching acquisition Javier Vazquez, didn't win a road series last season until June 11-13, going 5-17-4 in road series overall in 2010.
The Marlins were led by Omar Infante and Gaby Sanchez, who each drove in a run.
Vazquez (0-1) stuck around for only 2 1/3 innings, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on six hits, walking five.
The 34-year-old hurler signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Marlins after compiling a 10-10 record with a 5.32 ERA in 31 starts (26 games) for the Yankees last year.
