LOS ANGELES, April 3 (UPI) -- Marcus Thames belted a go-ahead, RBI triple in the seventh inning Sunday and the Los Angeles Dodgers hung on for a 7-5 victory over San Francisco.
Thames's hit triggered a four-run uprising for the Dodgers, who broke open a tight game and took their third win in a four-game, season-opening series against their National League West rivals.
Matt Kemp socked a two-run homer and Rafael Furcal added two hits and an RBI for the Dodgers.
Hiroki Kuroda (1-0) earned the win, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out five.
Jonathan Broxton recorded his third save despite allowing an Aaron Rowand home run in the ninth.
Dan Runzler (0-1) was saddled with the loss for San Francisco, which also got homers from Pablo Sandoval and Pat Burrell in the setback.
