Krystkowiak named Utah hoops coach

SALT LAKE CITY, April 3 (UPI) -- The University of Utah announced Sunday that Larry Krystkowiak has been named the school's new men's basketball head coach.

Krystkowiak replaces the fired Jim Boylen, who had compiled a 69-60 record in four seasons of guiding the Utes.

A former head coach at Montana and in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks, Krystkowiak comes to Utah from the New Jersey Nets where he has been an assistant coach this season.

He racked up a 42-20 record in two seasons as the helm at Montana, making two NCAA Tournament appearances. He left the Grizzlies following the 2005-06 season to become an assistant in the NBA with the Bucks.
