NHL: Colorado 4, Phoenix 3 (SO)

GLENDALE, Ariz., April 2 (UPI) -- Ryan O'Reilly tied the score with 4:31 left in regulation Friday and produced the only shootout goal to give Colorado a 4-3 win over Phoenix.

The Avalanche let a 2-0 lead get away, but came back to end a four-game losing streak.

Philippe Dupuis and Jay McClement produced goals that put Colorado in command midway through the second period. Lee Stempniak, Ray Whitney and Shane Doan then delivered unanswered goals for the Coyotes.

Doan's goal came on the power play with 7:37 to go in regulation and O'Reilly tied it 3:06 later. O'Reilly then scored in the second round of the shootout.

Phoenix currently holds down the fourth seed in the Western Conference, but has only a one-point lead over both Los Angeles and Nashville.
