MLB: Kansas City 5, LA Angels 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 2 (UPI) -- Chris Getz lined a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning Saturday and the Kansas City Royals held on for a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Trailing 4-3 entering the eighth, Kansas City tied it up after Brett Butler and Jeff Francoeur led off with singles and Butler moved to third on Wilson Betemit's groundout and scored on Matt Treanor's single.

Getz (3-for-4, two RBI) then chased pinch runner Jarrod Dyson home with a liner up the middle off Kevin Jepsen (0-1), handing a first major-league victory to Aaron Crow (1-0), who had shut the Angels out over 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Joakim Soria notched his first save of the year with a scoreless ninth for the Royals, who collected their second win of the young season.

Torii Hunter hit his second homer while Alberto Callaspo and Erick Aybar each had two hits and an RBI for the Angels.
