LOS ANGELES, March 29 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed right-handed pitcher Chad Billingsley to a three-year contract extension, the team announced Tuesday.
The Dodgers didn't reveal terms of the deal, but the Los Angeles Times reported it is worth $35 million to $36 million and includes a fourth-year club option.
"Through his professional career Chad has shown that he is very capable of winning games and taking the ball," Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti said. "His won-loss record speaks to that as well as his innings-pitched totals."
Billingsley, 26, has compiled a 59-41 record with a 3.55 ERA over 160 games in his five-year career.
He racked up 28 wins in 2008-09 when the Dodgers made a pair of appearances in the National League Championship Series, including a 16-10 mark in 2008.
