Shin takes lead in delayed Kia Classic

INDUSTRY, Calif., March 26 (UPI) -- Jiyai Shin fired a 3-under 70 Saturday to grab a one-shot after three rounds of the rain-delayed Kia Classic in California.

Shin didn't let a 1:40 p.m. start time faze her after Friday's rains pushed back the action several hours. The world No. 2 carded five birdies and two bogeys, moving to 15-under par 204 at Industry Hills Golf Club.

Shin took a one-stroke lead over Sandra Gal, who holed four birdies and a bogey en route to a 3-under 70 as she attempted to win her first LPGA title.

Shin is looking for her first win since the 2010 Mizuno Classic.

Na Yeon Choi (65) held third place at 9-under 210, while I.K. Kim was fourth at minus-8.

First-round leader Amanda Blumenherst (73) tumbled to sixth at 6-under.
