NHL: Washington 2, Montreal 0

MONTREAL, March 26 (UPI) -- Braden Holtby racked up his second career shutout Saturday and the Washington Capitals stayed hot with a 2-0 decision over Montreal.

The rookie netminder improved to 10-2-2 since joining the Caps, who won for the third time in four games.

Marco Sturm and Alexander Semin scored, helping Washington remain only two points behind Philadelphia for the overall lead in the Eastern Conference (100-98).

Montreal hasn't scored in three games and lost for the fifth time in seven contests.

Carey Price made 31 saves for the Habs.
