COL BKB: Butler 74, Florida 71 (OT)

NEW ORLEANS, March 26 (UPI) -- Shelvin Mack sank a go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime Saturday and Butler hung on to reach with NCAA Tournament Final Four with a 74-71 win over Florida.

Mack's trey with 1:20 remaining in the extra frame put the Bulldogs ahead for good at 72-70. He added a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to ice the victory for Butler (27-9), which returns to the Final Four for the second straight year.

Mack finished with 27 points and Matt Howard fired in 14 for the eighth-seeded Bulldogs, who rallied from a 10-point deficit to win the NCAA Southeast Regional and mount another improbable run for the national championship.

Last year's national runners-up will go on to face either Kansas or Virginia Commonwealth at the Final Four in Houston next week.

Erving Walker came up a bit short on a potential game-winning 3-point try at the end of regulation for the second-seeded Florida (29-8).

Vernon Macklin led the second-seeded Gators with 25 points and Kenny Boynton added 17 for Florida.
