Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

KISSIMMEE, Fla., March 26 (UPI) -- Houston Astros infielder Clint Barmes has broken his hand and will be out 4-6 weeks, team officials said Saturday.
Barmes, who came to the Astros in an off-season trade with the Colorado Rockies, suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone, doctors said.
The mishap occurred during Friday's Florida spring training game against the Yankees when New York's Ivan Nova hit him with a third-inning pitch.
The Astros said Barmes underwent an X-ray exam Saturday that revealed the fracture. Another exam will be conducted in Houston.
