Lafeber is 8-under 132 after 36 holes, tied with Jeppe Huldahl, who shot 4-under 66, and Rikard Karlberg, who was 3-under for his second round.

Karlberg was among five golfers tied for the lead after the first round. Another was Jamie Elson, whose 68 Friday left him one off the lead and tied with Tetsuji Hiratsuka and Paul Lawrie, who both shot 67 Friday.

Five other players, including first-round co-leader Oscar Floren, are at 6-under 134.

The others who shared the lead after Thursday's play were Robert Rock (70) and Johan Edfors (71). Rock is three strokes behind the second-round leaders and Edfors is four back.

Lafeber, starting on the back nine of the Parador de Malaga Golf course, opened with back-to-back birdies and got 4-under on the day with an eagle at No. 14 -- a hole he bogeyed Thursday. He had a bogey at 17 but played the front side in 2-under for his 65.

Karlberg, one of the last players off Friday, was 4-under through 15 before a bogey at the 16th hole dropped him into the tie with Lafeber and Huldahl.

Pentathlon World Cup moves to Moscow

MOSCOW, March 25 (UPI) -- The governing body of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup said this year's event will be held in Moscow due to unrest in Egypt.

The International Modern Pentathlon Union said the World Cup, which features athletes competing in five events, was originally supposed to be held in Cairo Sept. 6-14 but was moved to Moscow due to concerns raised by Egyptian military leaders following leader Hosni Mubarak's ouster in February, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

Klaus Schormann of the union said the Moscow event will feature laser guns in the place of air pistols for the run-and-shoot portion of the pentathlon.

Russia was also chosen Thursday to host the 2011 Figure Skating World Championship. The previous host, Japan, was ravaged by a March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

World Cup cricket terror suspect arrested

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 25 (UPI) -- A man suspected of plotting a terror attack at the cricket World Cup in the Indian subcontinent has been arrested, Interpol Chief Ronald Noble said in Pakistan.

"Last week, with the help of Pakistan, we identified and arrested the terrorist who had left Karachi. Thanks to the cooperation of Pakistan and other countries we were able to make sure that the World Cup remains safe," Noble told a news conference Thursday in Islamabad, Pakistan's Dawn reported.

The secretary-general of the international police organization, however, did not identify the suspect or the location of his arrest, saying only that the arrest occurred after the man left the port city of Karachi, Pakistan's largest city.

Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who accompanied Noble to the news conference, said there was a "serious attempt" of a terror attack during the tournament and the information was being shared with neighboring India, where the finals of the tournament are scheduled to be held in Mumbai. The World Cup matches have been played in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
