NHL: Los Angeles 4, San Jose 3 (SO)

LOS ANGELES, March 25 (UPI) -- Dustin Brown scored two goals in regulation and got the game-winner in the fifth round of the shootout Thursday to help the Los Angeles King beat San Jose 4-3.

Jonathan Quick finished with 24 saves and Willie Mitchell scored a goal for the Kings, who won their second straight game and their sixth out of eight overall to finish the night in fifth place in the Western Conference.

Patrick Marleau had two goals - including one that created a 3-3 in the closing seconds of the third period -- and also had an assist for the Sharks, who had won four straight coming into the game.

Joe Pavelski scored a goal and Antti Niemi made 35 saves for San Jose, which leads second-place Phoenix by two points in the Pacific Division.
