CHICAGO, March 24 (UPI) -- Corey Crawford turned aside all 23 Florida shots Wednesday and the Chicago Blackhawks helped their playoff positioning with a 4-0 win over the Panthers.
The Blackhawks struggled offensively through most of the game. Crawford made 13 saves during the first 40 minutes while the Hawks could manage only a single tally by Brent Seabrook.
Chicago broke it open with third-period goals from Viktor Stalberg, Patrick Kane and Tomas Kopecky and Crawford went on to register his fourth shutout of the season.
The victory gave the Blackhawks 88 points with nine games left and pulled them into a three-way tie for the Western Conference's fifth playoff seed with idle Phoenix and Nashville.
Tomas Vokoun yielded four goals on 31 shots for the Panthers, losers of four of their last five games.
