COL BKB: Alabama 74, New Mexico 67

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., March 22 (UPI) -- Tony Mitchell and Trevor Releford teamed up for 43 points Monday and Alabama downed New Mexico 74-67 to reach the quarterfinals of the NIT.

Mitchell finished with 23 points and six rebounds and Releford added 20 points, six boards and six assists for top-seeded Alabama, which advances to face No. 2 seed Miami-Florida.

Charvez Davis donated 14 points for the Crimson Tide (23-11), who shot 53.1 percent from the field.

Kendall Williams posted 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the fourth-seeded Lobos (22-13).
