Busch completes Bristol weekend sweep

BRISTOL, Tenn., March 20 (UPI) -- Kyle Busch stretched his winning streak at Bristol Motor Speedway to five straight races Sunday with his Sprint Cup victory in the Jeff Byrd 500.

Busch completed a weekend sweep at Bristol also taking Saturday's Nationwide Series event.

Busch grabbed the lead from Jimmie Johnson after the last round of pit stops with less than 100 laps to go and held off Carl Edwards and then Johnson after the final restart with 37 laps left.

Busch extended his lead down the stretch to collect his 20th career Sprint Cup Series victory.

Pole-sitter Edwards ended in second place and Johnson took the third spot.

Matt Kenseth and Paul Menard came in fourth and fifth respectively.
