NHL: Nashville 4, Boston 3 (OT)

NASHVILLE, March 17 (UPI) -- Shea Weber scored a power-play goal with 1:23 to go in overtime Thursday, giving the Nashville Predators a 4-3 decision over Boston.

Nashville won for the third time in four games and stayed in the thick of the race for a Western Conference playoff berth. The Predators began the night one point out of a post-season position.

Weber delivered his 16th goal of the season after Steve Kampfer had been sent to the penalty box for holding.

The score was tied 2-2 heading into the third period and Boston took the lead early in the stanza on a goal by Patrice Bergeron. David Legwand tied it for the Predators with 9:04 to go in regulation.

Although Boston picked up a point, the Bruins saw their lead in the Northeast Division trimmed to three points over Montreal.

Pekka Rinne collected the win by making 35 saves. Boston, which has lost five times in six games, got 27 saves from Tuukka Rask.
