ANAHEIM, Calif., March 17 (UPI) -- Jason Blake scored both Anaheim goals Wednesday and Ray Emery made 30 saves in his first start of the season to give the Ducks a 2-1 win over St. Louis.
Anaheim climbed into a share of eighth place in the Western Conference with Calgary, one point behind Dallas.
Emery suffered a severe hip injury while with Philadelphia last season and had not played since until Sunday, when he relieved Dan Ellis.
In desperate need of two points, the Ducks called on the six-year veteran and he responded by allowing only a second-period, power-play goal to Nathan Oystrick. The goal was Oystrick's first in eight NHL games this season and just the fifth of his career.
Blake tied the score with 8:32 to go in the second period and produced the game-winner on a tip-in 1:50 into the third.
Jaroslav Halak took the loss while making 22 saves.
