Cuche takes men's season super-G title

LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland, March 17 (UPI) -- Didier Cuche of Switzerland didn't have to leave the lodge Thursday to wrap up the season championship on the men's World Cup super-G.

The race at the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup Finals in Switzerland was called off due to rain, finalizing the season standings.

Cuche won his second World Cup championship in as many days with 291 points in the super-G standings, Georg Streitberger of Austria took second place and Ivica Kostelic of Croatia, the overall World Cup leader, secured third place.

Cuche won the downhill title Wednesday.

Thursday's race will not be made up. The giant slalom finals remained on the schedule for Friday, weather permitting.
