
LAKE CHARLES, La., March 16 (UPI) -- Reggie Jackson scored 22 points Tuesday in Boston College's 82-64 first-round NIT romp over McNeese State.
Jackson was 9-of-13 and hit four 3-pointers in the top-seeded Eagles' (21-12) victory, which moved them into a second-round contest with the winner of Wednesday's game between Northwestern and Milwaukee.
Corey Raji chipped in with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Biko Paris added 14 points.
Patrick Richard led eighth-seeded McNeese State (21-12) with 22 points. Diego Kapelan scored 12 and Stephen Martin had 10.
Boston College started red hot, shooting 56.7 percent in the first half and taking a commanding 41-19 lead at the break. McNeese State got back on track with 45 points in the second half, but BC scored 41 in the half, including 10-of-10 from the free throw line.
