SUNRISE, Fla., March 15 (UPI) -- Jeff Carter scored a pair of second-period goals Tuesday, propelling the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-2 victory over Florida.

Scott Hartnell scored a goal and Brian Boucher made 20 saves for Philadelphia, which remained one point ahead of surging Washington atop the Eastern Conference.

The Flyers showed few ill effects from Saturday's late-game collapse and loss to Atlanta, notching their third win Tuesday in four games overall.

Stephen Weiss and Dmitry Kulikov scored for Florida, which got 28 saves from Tomas Vokoun.
