CANTON, Ohio, March 14 (UPI) -- Ohio State head football Coach Jim Tressel apologized Monday for violating NCAA rules, in his first public appearance since being disciplined in the matter.
Tressel, speaking during his annual appearance at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club in Canton, Ohio, said he was sorry he had covered up knowledge of improper benefits received by six of his players, The Akron Beacon Journal reported.
