NHL: Florida 4, Tampa Bay 3 (OT)

SUNRISE, Fla., March 12 (UPI) -- Jason Garrison scored on a backhander with 16 seconds left in overtime Saturday, boosting the Florida Panthers to a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay.

Garrison's goal salvaged a win for the Panthers, who blew a 3-1 lead with less than 8 minutes to go in regulation.

Garrison also added an assist. David Booth, Ryan Carter and Niclas Bergfors all scored for Florida, which bested the Lightning for the fourth time this season.

Scott Clemmensen turned aside 35-of-38 shots to notch the victory.

Simon Gagne scored with 2 minutes remaining in regulation to knot the score and assisted on two goals for the fifth-seeded Bolts, who got 23 saves from Mike Smith.
