COL BKB: Texas 70, Texas A&M 58

KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 12 (UPI) -- Jordan Hamilton and Tristan Thompson combined to make 14-of-22 shots Friday in carrying No. 10 Texas to a 70-58 decision over 21st-ranked Texas A&M.

The Longhorns reached the championship game of the Big 12 Conference Tournament, where they will face Kansas.

Texas (27-6) handed Kansas one of its two losses this season, beating the Jayhawks in Lawrence when they were ranked No. 1 in the country.

Hamilton scored 17 points and Thompson had 13 rebounds to go with his 14 points.

The Longhorns and Jayhawks met in the conference title game for three straight seasons beginning 2006, with Kansas winning all three.

Texas A&M (24-8) got 18 points from Khris Middleton. The Aggies have never played in the Big 12 championship contest.
