SAN JOSE, Calif., March 11 (UPI) -- Alex Burrows scored the only goal in the shootout Thursday to help the Vancouver Canucks beat San Jose 5-4.
The Sharks came from behind twice to tie the score during the closing minutes of regulation, when the teams combined for three goals and wound up headed for extra time.
Burrows had a goal in regulation and Sami Salo, Mason Raymond and Daniel Sedin also scored for Vancouver, which won for the fourth time on a five-game road trip that concludes Saturday in Calgary.
Cory Schneider finished with 44 saves for the Canucks -- stopping nine shots in overtime and denying all three San Jose shooters in the shootout.
