NBA: Dallas 127, New York 109

DALLAS, March 11 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki was one of three Dallas players to reach 20 points Thursday and the Mavericks pulled away early to defeat New York 127-109.

The Knicks produced the game's first six points and was then outscored 72-35 for the rest of the half.

Nowitzki had 23 points, Shawn Marion scored 22 and Jason Terry delivered 21 off the bench. Dallas shot 51 percent as a team, made 11 3-pointers and outrebounded New York by 10.

The Mavericks have won 20 of their last 23 games, the three losses in that span all having been by a single point.

Dallas overcame a 36-point effort by Amare Stoudemire, who took 27 of New York's 80 attempts from the field. Carmelo Anthony made just 5-of-15 shots and scored 18 points for the Knicks.
