ATLANTA, March 11 (UPI) -- Brandon Knight scored Kentucky's last seven points Friday, helping the No. 16 Wildcats to a 75-66 win over Mississippi in the SEC Tournament.
Kentucky (23-8) advances to the tournament semifinals Saturday against Alabama. Mississippi was eliminated with a 20-13 record.
The Wildcats led the entire game, including by as many as 10 points midway through the second half. But Mississippi pulled back to within two when Chris Warren hit a 3-point shot with 1:47 to go.
Knight quickly answered for Kentucky and, after Warren missed a shot, got the rebound and was fouled. He made two free throws and added another after a rebound off another Rebels miss. That made the score 73-66 with 26 seconds left. He was fouled yet again after a rebound and sealed the win with two more free throws.
Doron Lamb led Kentucky with 19 points while Knight had 17 and six rebounds. Warren, despite 4-of-15 shooting from 3-point range, led all scorers with 20 points. Terrance Henry chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds for Mississippi.
