NEW ORLEANS, March 9 (UPI) -- Jarrett Jack made three free throws with 8.4 seconds to play Wednesday, rallying the New Orleans Hornets to a 93-92 victory over Dallas.
Dallas held a seven-point lead with 73 seconds to play. After Tyson Chandler missed two free throws for Dallas with 18 seconds to play, leaving the Mavericks with a two-point lead, Jason Kidd fouled Jack as he was attempting a 3-point shot -- and the resulting free throws handed Dallas its second loss in three games.
A fadeaway jump shot by Dirk Nowitzki at the buzzer failed to go.
Jack, given the start in place of the injured Chris Paul, scored 21 points to lead the Hornets. David West added 16 points and 10 rebounds while Carl Landry contributed 15 points.
Paul missed his second straight game after suffering a concussion Sunday against Cleveland.
Nowitzki led Dallas with 26 points. The Mavericks have lost in each of their last eight trips to New Orleans.
