Texans' Jackson tells of cockfight trip

HOUSTON, March 8 (UPI) -- Houston Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson attended a cockfight in the Dominican Republic and wrote about it on his Twitter account, online postings indicate.

In posts first reported Monday by KHOU-TV, Houston, Jackson wrote, "My first time ever seeing chicken fight till the death it was crazy… " and adding, "Look at all these people that be at these chicken fights, you would think its a college football game."

He also "tweeted" a picture of himself at the cockfight.

While cockfighting is legal in the Dominican Republic, the posts raised concerns Jackson could earn the wrath of animal rights activists, much as Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick did with his U.S. conviction for dogfighting.

The Texans had no comment Tuesday and calls to the 2010 first-round draft pick and agent weren't returned, the Houston Chronicle reported.
