NHL: Florida 3, Chicago 2

SUNRISE, Fla., March 8 (UPI) -- David Booth's tally sparked three-goal first-period outburst Tuesday that carried the Florida Panthers to a 3-2 victory over Chicago.

Booth's 20th of goal of the season, 4 minutes into the game, opened the floodgates for the Panthers, who also got markers from Clay Wilson and Marty Reasoner to post a 3-0 first-period lead.

Florida only got off seven shots the rest of the way but Tomas Vokoun made the lead hold up, turning aside 37-of-39 shots for the Panthers.

Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa each scored in the second period but Chicago could get no closer and saw its eight-game winning streak come to an end.

Starter Corey Crawford was pulled after yielding three goals on eight shots. Marty Turco entered and stopped all seven Florida shots he faced.
