NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 101, Atlanta 87

ATLANTA, March 8 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant pumped in 26 points Tuesday and the Los Angeles Lakers logged a season-high eighth straight win with a 101-87 decision over Atlanta.

Center Andrew Bynum scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while Pau Gasol contributed 14 points and 11 boards for the Lakers, who held the Hawks to 39.8 percent shooting from the field.

Los Angeles remained undefeated since last month's All-Star Game and notched its first eight-game win streak since opening the year with an 8-0 record.

Al Horford scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Atlanta, which absorbed its third straight loss.

Bryant passed Moses Malone to take over sixth place on the NBA all-time scoring list.
