NHL: Vancouver 3, Anaheim 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., March 6 (UPI) -- Cory Schneider registered his first career shutout and Manny Malhotra scored two goals Sunday, handing the Vancouver Canucks a 3-0 victory over Anaheim.

Schneider turned aside all 26 shots he faced, logging his first NHL whitewash in his 23rd career start for the Canucks, who maintained the league's best overall record at 42-16-9 (93 points).

Malhotra found the net 42 seconds into the game to set the tone and added another goal 17 seconds into the middle frame.

Daniel Sedin tallied his 34th goal and league-leading 81st point in the third period for the Canucks.

Anaheim, meanwhile, fell into 10th place in the tightly packed Western Conference standings with the setback.

Dan Ellis made only 13 saves on 16 shots for the Ducks.
