PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 5 (UPI) -- Rory Sabbatini once again overcame windy conditions to post the day's low round, opening up a five-stroke lead at The Honda Classic in Florida.
Ignoring blustery conditions, Sabbatini shot a 4-under-par 66. It marked the second straight day he carded the lowest round -- his 64 during Friday's second round was also tops.
Sabbatini charged ahead to finish 54 holes with a 9-under 201, five better than former PGA Champion Y.E. Yang (67) and Jerry Kelly (68), both of whom finished at minus-4.
It marked the ninth time in Sabbatini's PGA Tour career he's entered the final round with a lead. He went on to victories in five of them, with the last one coming at the 2009 Byron Nelson Championship.
Gary Woodland (68) finished fourth at 3-under 207, and second-round leader Kyle Stanley stumbled to a 4-over 74, finishing one shot further back at 2-under 208.
