SANTIAGO, Chile, March 5 (UPI) -- The veteran American doubles team of Mike and Bob Bryan won Saturday, giving the United States a 2-1 edge over Chile in first-round Davis Cup play.

The Bryan twins prevailed over the Chilean duo of Nicolas Massu and Jorge Aguilar 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), handing the United States the advantage going into Sunday's decisive reverse-singles competition.

Andy Roddick, who gave the Americans their first point with a Friday singles victory, will have a chance to wrap it up for the United States Sunday when he faces Paul Capdeville.

Should Capdeville win and a fifth match is needed, John Isner is slated to go for the Americans against Massu.

The winner between the United States and Chile will advance to July's quarterfinals to face Spain, which clinched a berth with Saturday's victory over Belgium.
