NEW YORK, March 1 (UPI) -- The New York Knicks waived swingman Corey Brewer Tuesday, just days after getting him from Minnesota in the three-team, 13-player Carmelo Anthony trade.

Brewer was acquired from the Timberwolves for Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry's expiring contract but never played in a New York uniform.

The fourth-year pro averaged 8.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 56 games this season for the Timberwolves.
