SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Martin Brodeur stopped 25-of-26 shots Sunday, backstopping the New Jersey Devils to their ninth win in 10 games, 2-1 over Florida.

Brodeur improved to 14-19-2, winning his fourth straight and turning aside all 11 shots he saw in the first period for the Devils, who despite their February surge are still nine points out of an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

David Clarkson and Brian Rolston found the net for the Devils.

The Panthers got their only goal from Marty Reasoner. Tomas Vokoun made 24 stops as Florida lost for the fifth time in seven games.
