COL BKB: Tennessee 60, Vanderbilt 51

NASHVILLE, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Scotty Hopson keyed a Tennessee rally Tuesday, scoring 12 of his 19 points down the stretch and boosting the Volunteers to a 60-51 win over Vanderbilt.

The Commodores held a two-point lead at 51-49 with 5 minutes remaining when Hopson took over. He drained six straight free throws to give Tennessee (17-11, 7-6 SEC) a 55-51 advantage.

The Vols were also aided by a pair of Vanderbilt turnovers during the crucial stretch.

Melvin Goins contributed 15 points and Tobias Harris chipped in with 10 and 11 rebounds as Tennessee won for only the second time in six games.

The Commodores (20-7, 8-5), meanwhile, saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.

John Jenkins and Festus Ezeli each ended with 11 points for Vanderbilt.
