Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Shane Doan's goal 2:41 into overtime Tuesday propelled the Phoenix Coyotes to their eighth straight win, a 3-2 decision over Philadelphia.
Doan's snap shot past Sergei Bobrovsky handed the Pacific Division-leading Coyotes their longest winning streak of the year.
Eric Belanger and Taylor Pyatt scored second-period markers and Ilya Bryzgalov improved to 8-0-0 during the Coyotes' hot streak, turning aside 37-of-39 shots for the victors.
Ville Leino found the net and Bobrovsky made 26 saves for the Eastern Conference-leading Flyers, who dropped their second straight home game.
