Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Chris Wright fired in 26 points and distributed four assists Saturday, propelling No. 9 Georgetown to a 61-55 decision over South Florida.
Jason Clark (10 points) made a 3-pointer a minute into the second half to give Georgetown (21-6, 10-5 Big East) a 31-28 advantage and the Hoyas never trailed again, going on to lead by as many as 11 points in claiming their ninth win in 10 games.
Julian Vaughn added eight points for the Hoyas, who shot 51.2 percent and played tough defense with six blocked shots.
They bounced back from a loss to 12th-ranked Connecticut Wednesday, which had ended a string of eight straight Georgetown wins.
Augustus Gilchrist put in 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bulls (8-20, 2-13).
