Kim still in front at LPGA Thailand event

CHONBURI, Thailand, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Kim In-kyung struggled through a 1-over-par 73 Friday but retained the lead at the Honda LPGA Thailand golf tournament.

Kim had a personal best 9-under 63 Thursday and led by three strokes after the opening round but had five bogeys in Friday's round. She is at 8-under 136 for the tournament. Michelle Wie shot 4-under 68 and Yani Tseng had a 1-under 71 Friday and are tied for second, one stroke behind Kim.

Juli Inkster, who was tied with Tseng for second after the first round, also had a 1-over 73 Friday and is tied with Choi Na-yeon (70 Friday), Paula Creamer (70) and Momoko Ueda (69) for fourth place, three strokes off the lead.

Kim was 3-over on the front nine Friday with four bogeys and a birdie at the fourth hole. She had birdies at Nos. 10 and 14 but another bogey at the 15th hole. A birdie at the par-5 18th hole allowed her to keep the lead alone.

Wie's round was bogey-free while Tseng overcame a double bogey 6 at the fifth hole and two bogeys to go with five birdies.
